Australia SecTech Roadshow 2018 is a simple and highly targeted touring tradeshow that covers 5 state capitals over 2 weeks during the month of May, started in Melbourne on 8^th May and will end in Perth on 23^rd May, covers 5 main cities, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, each city has a half-day pop-up expo which is a unique event that brings together the industry’s best solutions in a local atmosphere with free food and drink and tons of great prizes, and a good opportunity to see the big SecTech Camera Shootout, with 26 cameras from 10 manufacturers tested across 3 categories – external domes, external bullets and 36x plus PTZs.

Uniview attended this year’s camera shootout by best-selling camera types – super starlight bullet and super starlight dome. As well as the PTZ testing group with our 44X PTZ.

The test targets for SecTech was Norman (National Operational Requirement Mannequin), which include a full colour graphic and accurately sized motor vehicle licence plate. Also deployed a Rotakin test unit alongside Norman to give a clear and consistent sense of motion blur throughout every stage of the testing process but especially as light levels fell.

During the shootout, all cameras were connected to Milestone XProtect Corporate VMS, and displayed in 1 x 65-inch LG Commercial 1080p monitor. SEN editor-in-chief John Adams ran through multiple scenarios and assess camera performance in the typical light, with back light, and in low light. Throughout these lighting conditions, installers and distributors easily saw key parameters like motion blur, colour rendition, contrast, sharpness, flare and ghosting, latency, noise and noise suppression artefacts. Thanks to a fast F1.2 aperture 2.7-13.5mm motorized zoom lens with autofocus, Uniview had an overall good performance, provided nice sharp color image at low light condition while other cameras have already switched to B/W mode.
